Background
Student Health and Wellbeing includes four teams who provide practical, emotional and specialist disability related support to our students. You can learn more about the different teams in SH&W here: our services.
One of the teams within Student Health and Wellbeing is Disability and Neurodiversity. The Disability and Neurodiversity team provides support for autistic students, including:
• Reasonable adjustments, such as permission to take sensory breaks in classes.
• Examination arrangements, such as extra time, or a smaller room to take exams in.
• Liaison with staff at City St George’s, such as academic staff and library staff, to ensure that recommended adjustments are put in place.
• Signposting to other appropriate support such as Counselling or Academic Skills.
If you haven’t done so already we would encourage you to contact Student Health and Wellbeing in order to talk about the support available to you and ensure any adjustments are made in time for your arrival at City St George’s. Your Disability & Neurodiversity Advisor can also advise you on the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) and the application process.
